The Unleashed Hope Haven Campaign

Building a Safe Haven for Pets. Preserving Hope for Families.
Campaign Goal: $59,600
Board Approved by the Unleashed Hope Board of Directors – June 2026
At Unleashed Hope, we believe no one should have to choose between getting help and keeping the pets they love.
Every day, individuals facing addiction treatment, domestic violence, homelessness, medical crises, or other life transitions are forced to make impossible choices. Too often, beloved pets become barriers to safety, healing, and recovery.
A person delays entering treatment because they have nowhere safe for their dog.

A survivor remains in an unsafe situation because they cannot leave a beloved pet behind.
Someone experiencing a medical crisis postpones care because they have no one to care for their animals.
For many people, pets are more than companions—they are family. They provide comfort, routine, emotional support, and connection during life’s most difficult moments.
Research supports what pet owners have long known: the human-animal bond matters. Companion animals have been shown to reduce loneliness, provide emotional support, and strengthen resilience during times of stress and crisis. The Human Animal Bond Research Institute reports that 80% of pet owners say their pets help them feel less lonely, while 76% believe pets help address social isolation.
At Unleashed Hope, we know that connection is vital to healing.
And for many people, healing begins with the animals they love.
Why the Unleashed Hope Haven?
Unleashed Hope was founded on a simple belief: no one should have to choose between healing and their pet.
Our mission is to preserve the human-animal bond during times of crisis by providing temporary care and support for pets while their families seek treatment, safety, housing, or medical care.
Since our founding, we have already seen the need firsthand.
Families entering treatment.
Individuals facing housing instability.
Survivors seeking safety.
People navigating medical crises while desperately trying to keep their pets safe.
While we hope to place most dogs in a foster home, they are not always available, or the best fit.

Some pets require specialized care, decompression, training, or temporary housing before they can be placed in foster care or reunited with their families.
The Unleashed Hope Haven was created to fill that gap, and honestly its a big one!
The Haven will serve as a safe, temporary refuge for pets during times of crisis, providing compassionate care, enrichment, training, and stability while families work toward reunification.
This is not a shelter.
It is a bridge.
A bridge between crisis and recovery.
A bridge between temporary separation and permanent reunification.
A bridge that allows families to heal without losing a member of their family.
Because pets are family.
Our Vision
The Unleashed Hope Haven is the first step toward a larger vision: a community where people and pets heal together.
We envision a future where individuals entering treatment, escaping domestic violence, recovering from illness, or rebuilding after hardship can access support without fear of losing the animals they love.
We believe preserving the human-animal bond strengthens families, promotes healing, and creates healthier communities.
When we protect that bond, we create space for recovery.
And recovery changes lives.
